The Irvington Village Improvement Association (VIA) is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to enhancing the beauty, charm, and vitality of our town. Through proceeds raised from VIA events, we’re able to fund and support a wide variety of community projects that bring Irvington and the Northern Neck region together.
Projects and Improvements Funded by VIA Proceeds
- Installed the water and electrical systems on the Irvington Commons
- Added signage, benches, and picnic tables throughout the Commons
- Partner with the Town of Irvington to maintain and improve the Commons playground, including annual mulching and large-scale cleanup projects
- Renovated the playground in cooperation with the Town
- Provide and maintain 15 planters with benches along King Carter Drive and Irvington Road, featuring fresh plantings multiple times a year
- Annually install and maintain landscaping and plantings around the Commons, including the Gazebo, Tennis Court, and playground area
- Maintain Irvington’s Great Pumpkin — “Irving”, a beloved seasonal fixture
- Decorate the Commons for Fall and Christmas each year
